Sampler Block 11

FINALLY I am able to play in my studio. We have been so busy getting ready for our trip. I am so ready for some SUN.

I was able to complete my block 11 for Sampler group.

6" - Double Quartet
When I return home next month, I am going to have to study these blocks and come up with a layout.
I will continue on the rest of the night in studio. I am sure going to miss my haven! I wish I could just pack everything in two suitcases. 8)
Have a wonderful weekend & I hope you will find sometime to stitch! 8)

"Grace" Jane (Dear Jane) Blocks

I finally finished more blocks. I am going to have to re-do this Triangle. I cut the top half too short AND my half moon are crooked. *Ugh*

LS(left side)-9 "Kiwi"

Block B-13 "Four Corner Press"

I have to start packing now for our trip. This year we are spending the Holidays with my family. We are going to be gone for 6-weeks. Three weeks on Oahu with siblings and their families AND three weeks on the Big Island on the wet side "Hilo" with my Dad.

I am so looking forward to seeing the family. 8)

Todays Agenda

Not much going on here today. I mailed my ballot in last week so I don't have to go out and vote.

I am working on my "Grace Jane" blocks. I am working on the top left corner block. Hand appliqueing hexies right now. Then I have to work on D-11 (Snow Crystal) and LS(left side) 10 (Megan's Cathedral).

I need to get as much done as I can before I leave for our holiday vacation. This year we are spending Thanksgiving and Christmas with my family in Hawaii. We don't return until the end of December.

Have a wonderful day!

Hi Liz!  Guess what?  You won Chloe, the autograph dog!  I took her to market and had her signed by lots of designers.  She’s coming to you as soon as you email me your address.

Somewhere on the dog is Kaffe Fassett’s autograph (just his first name)…he told me he never puts his signature on fabric, so we are lucky to have it.  One of the sweetest designers is Amy Butler.  Hope you love Chloe!

Congratulations and thank you for reading my blog!

Productive Weekend!

I spend the entire weekend in my sewing studio getting all caught up on my sewing challenges. So I must be getting better. Except for this dog-gone cough!

Anyway, I am caught up on my Dear Jane BOW/TOW. I posted some pictures yesterday, here are the rest.

Bottom Left Corner:  It took me 6 hours to complete this dog-gone triangle!
I got confused with Blogger: That Quilt. So I printed the entire block. Then cut and pp in sections.

After looking at this block, I need to do over. My points are horrible!

That is about it for me here. Tomorrow I will work on my Civil War Love Letter Quilt.

What week!

This week I have been fighting this doggone cold and I "think" I am finally getting over it! Yesterday I did nothing but sleep, sleep and sleep! I Woke up this morning feeling a little better. I didn't push myself but I did some straightening up around the house and did some sewing. 8)

I am behind in my Dear Jane BOW/TOW. We are working on a block and a triangle a week. I am 3 weeks behind and I hoped to get them all done and caught up by tomorrow.  For my fabrics, I selected Grace by 3 Sisters for Moda fabrics. I fell in love with their deep red and brown fabrics. To add some color, I chose green print. It is hard to tell how it is going to look but in my mind, I think it will look great.

Here are some pictures of my triangles. I will take pictures of blocks tomorrow. My applique is not the greatest but I am working on it. 8)

I hope you finding time this weekend to sew! 8)

UFO Challenge

How is everyone doing on their UFO #9?

Since I am finished with this quilt, I thought I would finish up on my Civil War Love Letter Quilt. I need 30 more blocks, adding the sashing and borders. I don't think I will be able to finish by the time I leave for the holidays. But at least I will get most of it done.

Front Cover

I would love to hear from any participants. Don't forget to email me a picture of your quilt. 8)

So until January, 2013, I look forward to working the next UFO with you!

Sampler Block 7

Took awhile but I finally completed my sampler block 7.  I am still toying as to how I am going to set blocks. I really get baffled when I am uncertain.

UFO#9 - From the Sky with Grace - Completed

It feels so GOOD that I actually finished a sampler! I made a change to the center of quilt. I didn't like what was on the pattern. I chose a Dear Jane applique block. I am happy with the results. What do you think?

Close this window
This is the actual picture of pattern. I didn't like the center nor the sides and corners.

How is everyone doing on their UFO#9? I am looking forward to hearing from you. 8)

June 1, 2013

This will be a 6 month “Mystery” Quilt-A-Long.  On the first of every month, I will post 3 blocks with instructions and illustrations and on 6th month, I will post the last 4 blocks plus sash, border and binding instructions and illustrations.  You don't have to use the sash and borders layout that I have selected. You may have a better idea for sash, border and binding. Whatever the case may be, it is your quilt! 8)
I will reveal quilt layout in November 30, 2013

Here is a quilt that I did for 2012.
